A CALL FOR APPLICATION: Opportunity for Nigerian Tech Startups to Shine in Silicon Valley

The Nigerian government has announced an unprecedented opportunity for tech innovators and entrepreneurs in the country. In a bid to foster technological advancement and innovation, the government is offering a chance for Nigerian startups to undergo intensive training in Silicon Valley, USA, the global epicentre of technology and innovation. Not only will selected startups receive invaluable training, but they will also stand a chance to win lucrative prizes totaling up to US$220,000. This initiative, known as NPI 2.0, promises to be a game-changer for the Nigerian tech ecosystem.

Programme Overview

The NPI 2.0 programme comprises several stages designed to identify and nurture the most promising tech-enabled startups in Nigeria. The journey begins with the pre-selection stage, where innovators are invited to submit their applications detailing their digital products, services, and business models. Following this, the top 100 finalists will undergo rigorous one-month virtual training, culminating in an in-person bootcamp for the top 25 finalists. From this pool, the top 10 finalists will be selected to participate in the highly anticipated Demo Day.

Demo Day: A Platform for Innovation

Demo Day is the pinnacle of the programme, where the top 10 finalists will showcase their innovations to a panel of esteemed judges comprising both local and foreign technology industry experts and investors. Each finalist will have the opportunity to present their pitch, demonstrating the impact and potential of their startup. This event not only provides a platform for recognition but also opens doors to additional funding and global exposure.

Post Demo Day: The Silicon Valley Experience

For the fortunate top 10 finalists, the journey continues with an all-expense-paid, 5-week in-person training programme at a prestigious US university in Silicon Valley. This immersive experience offers unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning, and growth. Additionally, finalists will have the exclusive chance to pitch to angel investors, securing further investment and cementing their position on the global stage.
