Women in technology are becoming more prominent, and Cameroon has been instrumental in encouraging female digital entrepreneurs across the country.
Mrs. Alima Nzeket Epse Bessama, a 31-year-old computer science engineering teacher at ISSTMAD and Béka-Hosséré General High School in Ngaoundere, was born in Cameroon and is featured this weekend on CryptoAfricaNow(CAN) for having been selected for this year’s 2022 Emerging Leaders by TechWomen in the United States. She’s currently pursuing her PhD in artificial intelligence at the University of Ngaoundere in Cameroon.
Coupled with that, she’s a budding entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Adamawa Code Kids, a program that raises awareness of the advantages of ICTs among elementary and secondary school students in Adamawa and throughout the country’s far north.
Alima Nzeket Epse Bessama was chosen, among other candidates, to represent Cameroon in this year’s 2022 TechWomen, a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The whole list of selected ladies along with their countries may be found HERE.
TechWomen empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of female leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them with the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.
This year’s #TechWomen22 goals for Alima include web programming and coding, using artificial intelligence technologies, and learning how to protect mobile devices from social engineering attacks. She is a remarkable woman who is committed to attaining her objectives.
