Bitcoin DADA Celebrates Historic Milestone with Graduation of First African Female Developers

Bitcoin DADA, a groundbreaking institution headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, made history on November 23, 2024, by graduating its first-ever mass cohort of African female developers. The organisation, which is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for African women to learn about Bitcoin and succeed within a supportive community, reached a new pinnacle in its mission to empower women through education and technology.

The celebration honoured the inaugural cohort of Dada Devs, a group of women who successfully completed Bitcoin DADA’s intensive 12-week Bitcoin and Lightning development course. Alongside the graduation ceremony, the organisation also hosted a three-day bootcamp that focused on Bitcoin and Lightning development, offering all African female developers a chance to explore, innovate, and showcase their skills.

By the end of this transformative journey, 35 African women—comprising Dada Dev graduates and bootcamp participants—stood proudly as trailblazers in the world of Bitcoin innovation.
