Africa Bitcoin Conference 2024: A Hub of Innovation and Empowerment

Nairobi, Kenya– The recently concluded Africa Bitcoin Conference (ABC) at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi proved to be a landmark event for the cryptocurrency landscape in Africa. From December 9th to 11th, the conference brought together thousands of crypto enthusiasts, experts, government officials, and industry leaders, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Teams competed for lucrative Bitcoin prizes, with the first prize amounting to a substantial $15,000 USD in Bitcoin. This initiative encouraged creativity and fostered a spirit of competition among developers.

The ABC Social Impact Award further underscored the conference’s commitment to leveraging Bitcoin for social good. This award recognised African innovators who are utilising Bitcoin to drive financial inclusion, economic growth, and positive social change.

Other notable speakers included Noelyne Sumba (Machankura), Renata Rodrigues (Fedi), Bernard Parah (Bitnob), Lorraine Marcel (Bitcoin Dada), Obi Nwosu (Fedi), Ojoma Ochai (Btrust), Femi Longe (Human Rights Foundation), and Erik Hersman (Gridless).
